Are you ready to take the plunge?

My name is Christina Crowe, and I’m the writer behind Cash Campfire. I first attempted freelance writing on the Web when I had created a lifestyle blog that I called Salad Sticks. I had no prior work experience. In fact, I didn’t even think I would make it as a freelance writer, but I knew writing was something that I loved doing. I used to write short stories in my adolescent years, just for the pure pleasure of it. It had always been a hobby of mine. That is, until I decided to make freelance writing my life.
I currently live in Brockton, Massachusetts, where I devote most of my time to writing, reading historical romance novels and educating my younger brother on the basics of fish keeping. In the next few years, I hope to use my freelance income to purchase a home and start a family.
Now, I’m not an expert in entrepreneurship. I don’t have a degree in business, marketing or even English (though, that is something I’d like to acquire in the near future). What I do have, however, is a strong devotion to knowledge and the desire to build a successful freelance writing career. In essence, I’m just a young woman living a normal life with extraordinary hopes and desires. Like you, I have dreams and goals. I have a positive outlook on life that has allowed me to get so far in my writing career. I’ve met loads of entrepreneurs and networked with many freelance writers. I’ve also received help along the way.
Could I have made it without help? Probably not. This is why I want to help you achieve your freelance dreams, and I intend to do so through this blog.
In September 2008, I was ready to start working, only to find that no jobs were hiring in my local area. The economy was still not getting any better, and I needed money to keep up with my living expenses because I was a Freshman just entering college.

Because no one locally would hire me, I started researching income opportunities online. Writing was always something I loved to do, but I didn’t think I could make a career out of it. Hell, I could barely qualify as a freelance writer.
However, when my research turned up with nothing that I was interested in, I began researching writing opportunities. I was nervous as I browsed case studies of successful entrepreneurs and freelance writers. Most of the people featured had so much credibility. How could I compete? After all, I’ve never had a job before. Heck, I wasn’t even a college graduate! Any writing I did was for pure entertainment and most of it was fiction.
Someone suggested to start blogging. I considered it, but had no clue what I wanted to blog about. I also came across eHow, a company that was looking for writers at the time. I was afraid that I wasn’t qualified to write for them or that no one would be interested in what I had to say because of my lack of knowledge in certain areas. So, I put off starting a blog and I put off filling out the application for eHow.
After nine months of research and senselessly agonizing over this and that, I finally decided to stop contemplating what I wanted to do and take action. So, on June 2009, my blog Salad Sticks was born. Because the blog was still young and I didn’t really know what I was doing, money only trickled in. As a result, I opted to expand my income by writing for other companies. It was then that I learned the basics of residual income.
Over time, I began to see a gradual increase in my earnings. The important thing is I didn’t give up. I kept on writing, only focusing on my dream as a freelance writer. I made a lot of mistakes during the journey, but I achieved so much in my career as well. Cash Campfire was then created, only because I wanted to share my freelance writing journey with other aspiring writers. Little did I know that this blog would soon reach the popularity that it has.
