Jump Start Your Writing Career: Design Your Future and Control Your Lifestyle

Freelance writing eBook 1

You’re working long hours and finally come home late after a stressful night of overtime. Your shoulders are stooped, spine ready to break. Your vision is hazy, and all you can think about is how good the pillow on your bed will feel once you sink down into it.

But you can’t give in to the mindless agony of your body yet – not with all the work you have left to do.

Now you must set aside time for your side business. For if you don’t, your meager income threatens to take away your house and everything you’ve worked so hard to achieve thus far.

As you sit your aching bum into your desk chair and rest your complaining leg muscles, one simple phrase repeats itself over and over in the dark recesses of your mind…

This isn’t the life I want to live.

  • You want to live your life doing what you love, enjoying the time you have, cherishing every moment, and awaiting the future with eager excitement.
  • You want to free yourself from the tight bonds of your corporate office and frolic in a life you’ve built and have control over, no more fearing that you’ll suddenly get laid off.
  • You want to build a steady income that only continues to grow, no longer depending on your boss to give you a pay raise whenever you want to increase your salary.

Well, I’m here to tell you that your dreams are not impossible. (more…)

Past the Basics: 6 Expert Web Content Tips

Writing Web Content for Websites Icon | Reach a Larger Audience This is the eighth and last part in the series Writing Web Content for Websites. In this part of the series, you’ll learn 6 expert web content tips to help make writing content for other sites a bit easier.

I’ve given you tons of information in this series so far to get you started in writing content for websites, so that you can gradually build an online residual income. So, in this part of the series, I’m just going to give you 6 of the most important (at least, what I think is most important) web content tips that I haven’t yet touched on, which will improve your freelance writing experience. Use these tips throughout your freelance lifestyle and you should do pretty well.

Web Content Tip #1: Do the Article Research before You Write

Web content tips #1 Research

By doing the research before you write an article and not during, you save time since you’re not constantly reading in between sentences. Your ideas are more of your own, and you’re also putting the information into memory for future articles you may write on the same topic. This reduces the research you’ll have to do for your next article. If you research as you write, you’re more likely to just rephrase what has already been written by someone else, even if it’s not intentional. (more…)

How to Set Up Your Own Web Content Services and Enlarge Your Wallet

Writing Web Content for Websites Icon | Reach a Larger Audience This is the seventh part in the series Writing Web Content for Websites. In this part of the series, you’ll learn how to promote your own web content services to maximize your income potential.

In addition to writing content for other companies and earning residual income month after month, you can also promote your web content services on your own website or blog and earn huge one time payments per project. However, going this route does take a bit more work than if you were just writing articles for other websites. You’ll have to make your services visible on the Web through an online portfolio, constantly promote your web content services to attract clients and spend countless hours working on each project according to the client’s liking.

While you will not be able to stop working and still earn residual income with this method, you’ll earn much more money in a shorter amount of time. In fact, some projects may even make you anywhere between $100 to over $1,000, according to the type of project. You also control how much you get paid, since you’re the one setting the rates. Some freelance writers are even able to make six digit incomes yearly. But it’s no small feat. It takes hours of work and effort to keep clients satisfied so that they keep coming back again and again. (more…)

Creating Web Content that Turns Heads and Increases Revenue

Writing Web Content for Websites Icon | Reach a Larger Audience This is the sixth part in the series Writing Web Content for Websites. In this part of the series, you’ll learn how to create web content that will increase your earning potential and online income.

You’ve created a quality article, and you’re confident that it will wow your visitors. How do you now earn money for your hard work?

You can earn money several ways, but the most common method is through advertisement revenue. That is, if you’ve chosen to write for a company that pays you a portion of the ad earnings your articles make. Some companies only pay writers based on page views, so the companies make their money from the ads and reward you if your posts become popular. The problem with writing for these companies is that your articles have the potential to earn a lot more money than what they’re giving you.

If you write for a company that pays you a portion of the ad revenue, your article can earn a lot of money through ad networks. So, the article can receive 1,000 page views a month and you may make $10 a month from that one article. Whereas, on a site like Associated Content that pays you based on page views, you’ll be earning a few bucks per 1,000 page views.

Here’s a real life example. I wrote an article on writing 11 months ago for eHow (I won’t give you the exact title because I want you to find your own profitable topics on subjects that you are interested in; It’s much more rewarding that way). Since creation, this article has earned a total of $407.50 and received 23,208 views. Just this month (with 3 days left in the month) I’ve earned $153 for the article, which is the most I’ve ever earned for this article in a month (last month I earned $85.41 and it goes downhill from there). Doing the math, I receive an average of $37.05 and 2,110 page views a month for this one article. (more…)

Web Content Development Checklist: Boost Traffic with Article Improvements

Writing Web Content for Websites Icon | Reach a Larger Audience This is the fifth part in the series Writing Web Content for Websites. In this part of the series, you’ll use the following web content development checklist to see which areas of your articles need improvement so that you can increase reader engagement. After the web content editing process, your articles will be more enjoyable and easy to read.

Do you want to engage your readers and inspire them to take action? Of course you do! Why write if you’re not going to get something from it? This “something” can be enjoyment from writing the article, satisfaction for helping a reader or money earned for providing useful content. The purpose of this article is to help you achieve that “something” by following the web content development checklist.

But, wait! What actions do you want to inspire readers to take? Well, for one, you want to make money from your articles. So, you’ll want readers to click on relevant ads, buy your eBooks (if you have any) or purchase good products that you recommend (with affiliate links in place). (more…)

SEO Web Content Writing Tactics: Get Found in Search Engines

Writing Web Content for Websites Icon | Reach a Larger Audience This is the fourth part in the series Writing Web Content for Websites. This part of the series teaches you basic SEO web content writing tactics that will boost your search engine rankings and increase search engine traffic.

For those of you unfamiliar with SEO, SEO stands for search engine optimization. After reading this part of the series, you’ll know the techniques to use in your web content writing to make it easier for search engine bots to find your content and rank your articles accordingly.

The higher your articles rank in search engines, the more traffic your articles will receive. Of course, the more traffic you receive on any given article, the more residual income you’ll earn because the chances of readers clicking on ads and buying affiliate products will be greater. Attracting more people to your articles should be your main concern after writing quality content that is useful for your readers. You want people to read the awesome content you spent so much time writing. SEO will allow you to do just that by giving you the opportunity to reach a wide audience through search engines. (more…)

How to Create Quality Web Content Readers Will Love

Writing Web Content for Websites Icon | Reach a Larger Audience This is the third part in the series Writing Web Content for Websites. After you read this part of the series, you’ll be able to create quality web content that increases traffic without the use of SEO.

While the quantity of the articles you write increases your earning potential, quality web content also plays a major role in earnings.

Think about it.

If you were reading an article and the article didn’t make sense or was poorly written, would you stick around? Of course not! You would hightail your butt on out of there. What’s the likelihood that you would take any other action on that page (such as clicking ads or purchasing Amazon products)? You guessed it. Not very likely. More likely than not, you’ll simply click the back button on your browser to go back to Google search.

Believe it or not, good web content plays a role in how much you earn. It’s better to write 50 really good articles than 100 articles that are only so-so or 150 articles that are terrible. Writing poor content also doesn’t look good on your reputation as a professional writer, and I’m assuming that you want to be seen as a writing professional.

So, what makes quality web content? Read further, and you’ll be writing good web content in no time. (more…)

Finding Web Content Jobs: What to Look For

Writing Web Content for Websites Icon | Reach a Larger Audience This is the second part in the series Writing Web Content for Websites. In this part of the series, you’ll learn what different web content jobs are available and how to choose the right one.

There are literally thousands of web content jobs floating around the Internet. You can sign up on sites that are hiring new freelance writers. You can browse different online directories for web content writer jobs. You can even place your own ads on these directories and have people hire you to write for them instead. The possibilities are endless!

So, how do you know which one to choose? Should you search for web content jobs or have people search for you instead? Once you’ve figured that out, which job, then, should you choose? Should you write for both upfront pay and residual income or just residual income? Which web content jobs will give you the most return for your efforts?

Well, let’s take a look. (more…)

Getting Started as a Web Content Writer

Writing Web Content for Websites Icon | Reach a Larger Audience This is the first part in the series Writing Web Content for Websites. In this part of the series, you’ll learn what steps to take in order to be successful as a web content writer. You’ll also learn key activities you can try to help hone your writing skills before writing for reputable companies.

Despite what you may think, being a web content writer isn’t easy – even if you love to write. There will be days when your body will refuse to get up out of bed, days when you’d rather not lift a finger on your computer keyboard at all and days when you can’t wait to start working on that morning article. Income will also be unstable. Unlike a 9 to 5 job, you won’t get the same paycheck week after week. Payments are usually given on a monthly basis and how much you earn will vary depending on how well your articles perform. Some articles may not perform well at all!

However, freelance writing is worth the wild ride. Not only can it be lucrative, but it can also be a fun and exciting learning experience. You’ll meet tons of other web content writers along the way, and you might even become well-known in your area of expertise. Some parts can be downright exhilarating. (more…)
