This has caused many complaints and mixed emotions for former eHow writers, especially since many of Demand Studios' copy editors are increasingly strict when approving articles that are submitted. However, working for Demand Studios isn't too bad. It can be stressful when submitting your first 30 articles only to have them sent back for changes and rewrites. I know that at some points I would have happily ripped out all my hair in frustration. Luckily, I was able to refrain myself, as hard as it was to do so. But, like most things, you'll get better as you practice and hone your writing skills. After a few months of working for Demand Studios, you'll find that your articles are approved without rewrites a lot more than they were before. Yes, there might be an occasional rewrite request, but there will definitely be an improvement in regards to how many rewrites you'll have to do.
Related Posts:

Update: Demand Studios Plagiarism Flag Removed

Demand Studios Holiday Club

What Writing Samples Should be used for Demand Studios?

Since eHow writers, past and present, now must submit their eHow articles through Demand Studios after the famous writing platform switch, writers who want to continue writing for Demand Media must submit an application for Demand Studios. After a few months of working for Demand Studios, you’ll find that your articles are approved without rewrites a lot more than they were before. Yes, there might be an occasional rewrite request, but overall you’ll see fewer rewrite requests as your writing improves.

Working for Demand Studios does have its positives. In fact, some people can earn a full-time income on Demand Studios alone – and they have! It all depends on how you budget your time and the speed in which you can write each article, while still maintaining quality. There will be some rough times when you’ll want to wring the copy editor’s neck. But there will also be moments of excitement and pride, like the moment when you notice an email from PayPal stating that you just got paid $225 from Demand Media after two days of work. If you want to make it to the top, it does take hard work. But, like I always say, hard work does pay off if you have the determination and willpower to make your dreams happen. If you want to take a look at my past and present Demand Studios earnings, view the Demand Studios Payment Proofs page.

Table of Contents

Introduction

Working for Demand Studios

How Payment Works

My Story

Introduction

You can apply for five different roles when working for Demand Studios. If you have experience writing and don’t mind doing a bit of research you can apply to be a writer, where you submit high quality articles and get paid for it. If you have copy editing experience and can work on tight deadlines, you can apply to be a copy editor and get paid to review the articles submitted by other writers. If film is your thing and you can film videos in batches, apply to be a filmmaker, where you create groups of videos for pay. The other two roles that can be applied for are blogger and expert, depending on if you have experience working a blog or know a great deal about a topic and want to expand your reach. You can even apply to more than one position.

Whichever role you pick, there are topics for everyone when working for Demand Studios, no matter the interests. If you’re a writer who focuses on nutrition and healthy eating habits, you can go to the Dieting and Nutrition section in the Health and Fitness category and find topics to write about there. If you like writing topics on computers, you can filter your topic search to anything from Building Computers to Virus and Spyware Protection. Eventually, if you prove that you can write exceptionally well by raising your Grammar and Research score, you can chosen to write special articles that can pay up to $100 or more – and you may even have your article limit increased so that you can claim more assignments. Copy editors can choose the topics they review as well and filmmakers can choose the topics they film. There’s literally something to do for everyone.

However, before working for Demand Studios, you’ll need to prove your expertise and you can do this by submitting a resume. Demand Studios, like all jobs and careers, prefers workers who have past experience in what they’re applying for. If you’re not experienced, you will get rejected. That’s why it’s so important to build up an article library if you’re applying for the writing position. This way, you have a few months to a year of writing on your belt and writing samples to prove it. Demand Studios wants the best out there. If you can’t prove that you’re unique and if you can’t give a reason as to why Demand Studios should hire you, you will not be hired. You also will not receive another chance to be hired for that specific position (unless you’re clever like me, but I’ll explain more on that later), so you should spend a lot of time on that resume and make sure you have the experience before applying. I’m also willing to help anyone with their resumes if they have the dedication to write. Simply send me an email.

Working for Demand Studios

As I mentioned before, working for Demand Studios might be stressful and frustrating at first, but it will get better. This is especially the case if you applied to be a writer. Once you’ve shown Demand Studios, through your resume and writing samples, that you’re worthy enough to join their community, you’ll then have to prove to the world and each copy editor that reviews your new article submissions that you have what it takes to write high quality articles. This isn’t easy and sometimes you’ll receive outrageous requests from copy editors who don’t exactly know enough about the topic that they’re reviewing. Just don’t give up. Keep at it and, with practice, you’ll learn what is expected of you and what to expect from Demand Studios.

Every now and then, Demand Studios will host contests to entice writers and copy editors to keep on writing. Usually these contests are around the holiday season and the prize is usually a hefty sum of money. You can view more information about them in my Demand Studios Holiday Club article.

How Payment Works

For writers, you’ll get paid every Tuesday and Friday for your approved articles (if you write articles for upfront pay). The amount of money you receive per article varies and depends on what format the articles are written in. Most “how to” articles, where you write about how to do something, are worth $15 each, while many fact sheet articles are worth $7.50 each. I personally prefer the “how to” format, mainly because I’m used to writing in that format when I used to be an eHow writer. Copy editors get paid about $3.50 per article when working for Demand Studios and filmmakers get paid around $200-$300 per assignment.

You can also get paid according to ad performance and earn a steady residual income month after month, without additional work put in. I actually prefer this type of payment, since I just have to do the work initially (write the article) to earn ongoing income (a portion of the ad revenue). However, since this type of payment isn’t set, how much your article makes will vary. Some articles won’t make anything at all, while others will make over $100 a month and continue making money (one of mine has).

Residual income depends strongly on your keyword research and how well you can optimize the article for search engines, since the majority of your traffic will come from visitors searching for particular keyword terms. The articles available for residual income are also limited, and I suggest to just create your own assignments (since you’ll have more control over what you write about).

My Story

When I first applied to work for Demand Studios a few years ago, I got rejected. I believe this was mainly because I just did not have the experience yet with freelance writing and my article library was pretty low. At the time of applying, I was just starting to get a feel for freelancing online and was just starting college. I only had a few articles under my belt on eHow and had tested out Xomba a little when I found Demand Studios.

Several months after my rejection, I talked with a friend of mine, who also happened to be a fellow eHow writer. He shared with me his Demand Studios earnings and how he made about $900 so far in the few months he’s been a member. This inspired me to submit another application to Demand Studios, and this time I had a rather large article library with over 110 eHow articles to use as writing samples. I fixed up my resume and resubmitted my application using my Yahoo email address, rather than my Gmail email, since the Gmail email address was already taken when I got rejected the first time. A few days after resubmitting my application, I was delighted to receive an acceptance letter in my Yahoo inbox. I remember the day well, since I was literally hopping around the room in excitement. I had made a huge leap in my writing career and I was ecstatic over it.

Within my first few weeks of writing 3 articles a day for Demand Studios (while taking a few breaks here and there), I made $300. It was hard at first to keep up with all the rewrites I had to do, but I made it and I’m proud of my accomplishments. Working for Demand Studios has been, above all, a learning experience. I could spend less time writing each article than I could before, and I received fewer rewrites to do over time. Instead of getting paid $15 an hour, I was able to start earning $30 for writing 2 articles an hour rather than 1. Several months later, I’d made over $800. Keep in mind that I was mainly using Demand Studios as a hobby and not a full-time career. If I had of spent more time writing, I would have made a lot more.

If you’re considering working for Demand Studios, I suggest to build up your current article library first so that you have a better chance of getting accepted into their community. Once you feel as though you have a large selection of writing samples, spend some time working on your resume – then submit an application and wait for that acceptance letter to be sent to your inbox.

Feel free to post your Demand Studios experiences in the comment section. I read all comments and will happily respond if you need help with the acceptance process.

Post Your Input

How has working for Demand Studios been for you?

Which Demand Studios position did you apply for?

Related Posts:

Update: Demand Studios Plagiarism Flag Removed

Demand Studios Holiday Club

What Writing Samples Should be used for Demand Studios?

Project Payday Review: Earn Extra Income Online

Freebie Trading

Project Payday

Freebie trading

Review

Seeing the website advertised literally everywhere on the Web, I automatically assumed that Project Payday was just another one of those scam programs that claim you'll earn extra income online when, really, the company ends up taking all the money you should be earning. Basically, Project Payday teaches you how to earn extra income online by completing offers and/or gathering referrals to complete those offers for you. Unlike CashCrate and FusionCash though, earnings are a lot better for the time spent and you can really make some decent money.

As a member of Project Payday, you have access to tons of videos describing the step-by-step process where you can make that $500 a month. The videos are very thorough, along with the other information in the member area. I highly recommend that you look at each video carefully after you join, so that you’re not left in the dust. There’s even a free bonus pack (if you do the free offer), which gives you access to 16 additional sources of information so that you can use to further your earning potential and earn extra income online.

Earn Extra Income Online

Besides gathering Project Payday referrals, there are three methods to earn extra income online using the information and tools described on Project Payday after you register on the website.

Method 1

This is where you start when you first join Project Payday. This method mainly consists of you completing offers for someone else in order to receive payment via PayPal. There are various forums where this transaction can be done, and Project Payday does a great job listing and explaining each forum. Once you choose a forum to work with, just search for a potential trader (there will probably be a “Beginners” area for those of you just starting out), set up a trade you’d like to complete, register for the website listed in the trade agreement using the Trade Manager (or whichever trade system the forum uses), and complete offers until you have enough credits (usually 0.50 or 1 credit needs to be completed, where each offer is worth around 0.30 credits more or less) to finish the trade and earn extra income online. Then, you “go green” by letting your trader know that you have gotten credit for the offers you completed (should usually take an hour or two for the offers to be credited after completion) and your trader will give you money (the amount of money you earn is listed in the trade agreement) for completing the offers as his/her referral. This method can be a great way to earn extra income online if you choose your offers wisely. Offers usually consist of free trials and promoted products to be bought.

If you intend on taking advantage of the free trials, you should keep a list of all the trial offers you’re part of and don’t intend to keep, so that you won’t be charged after the trial ends. It’s also a good idea to wait until at least the 6th day of the free trial before canceling, in order to prevent credit from being taken away from you. Some offers require you to keep the free trial for a certain number of days, so pay attention to what the requirements are.

Money earned can be anywhere from $15 to $60 per successful trade. It’s really quite simple and only takes about an hour to do each trade. In the end, your trader is happy because he/she gets paid for referring you and you’re happy because you get paid for completing offers for the trader. However, eventually you’ll run out of offers to do in order to earn extra income online. Then you’ll need to move on to Method 2.

For more detail on how to do Method 1, take a look at my post Beginner’s Guide to Anything4Free: Method 1.

Method 2

This method is mainly for more experienced traders who already know the basics and have completed Method 1 a number of times. In this method, tables are reversed and you are the trader paying people still in Method 1 to complete offers as your referral to earn extra income online. Why would you want to pay people to be your referral? The money is just an incentive to help your referrals get the required credit so that you can earn cash prizes on the freebie website listing the offers. It’s a good idea to pay your referrals half of the money you’ll be making with the cash prize, or you can just look around the forums to see what other members are paying their referrals for the specific website you’re using. For example, if the cash prize is $400 and the requirement is 9 referrals, you pay each referral $22 ($400/2 = $200/9 = $22) and you’ll earn $200 for yourself in the long run. After using this method for a few websites, you should notice some nice cash flooding in. Most traders prefer this method when they earn extra income online, since there’s a higher earning potential.

To get started on Method 2, check out my tutorial Beginner’s Guide to Anything4Free: Method 2.

Method 3

This method is basically the same thing as Method 2, only you’re recruiting referrals for gift prizes (such as an i-pod) rather than cash prizes. Gift prizes can be quite profitable if you’re wise when selling each gift on eBay in order to earn extra income online. The earnings you receive may vary however, so it could be difficult to decide how much you intend to pay each referral.

How Payment Works

If you’re earning your money from Project Payday referrals rather than other traders, you’ll be able to receive your payment via PayPal every Friday, as long as you make the $30 minimum requirement when you earn extra income online. If you don’t, your earnings will just carryover and continue adding up until you do. If you earn extra income online from other traders, the time in which you’re paid will vary. Most traders are prompt, though, and you should get your earnings within 24 hours of the time you “go green”, or get credit for the offers completed.

International Users

Unfortunately, Project Payday is only open to United States users.

Project Payday Cons

As always, Project Payday isn’t perfect, and there are negative aspects when you earn extra income online using Project Payday’s money making techniques.

You need to be aware of free trial deadlines to prevent unnecessary charges. I can’t stress this enough! Many people claim that Project Payday is a scam because they weren’t as organized as they should have been when completing free trials. If you’re not organized and don’t like the idea of keeping a record of each offer you do and their deadlines so that you can avoid unnecessary charges, Project Payday is probably not right for you and you should look to earn extra income online elsewhere. Staying organized can be a hassle, but it’s well worth the trouble, considering the money you’ll be making when you earn extra income online. Most often than not, you’ll encounter a free trial offer that you don’t really need.

You can’t cancel free trial memberships immediately after you receive credit for them. Promoters want you to at least try the services before you cancel. So, if you cancel too early after you receive credit, you may get that credit revoked and taken away. It’s a good idea to either cancel the day the trial ends or after the 6th day of the free trial period (unless the offer requires you to keep the trial longer) to be safe when you earn extra income online.

Almost all of the offers available to complete will require some sort of cost. This is another thing most new traders don’t like and claim Project Payday is a scam because of it. Most offers require you to purchase a certain product. Many people don’t want to spend money to make money. Even if you do a free trial offer, it might require a small fee. However, you can find some completely free offers, though it won’t be easy if you plan to do offers for multiple websites and still earn extra income online. In the end though, it’s better to just spend a small portion of your money to make a lot more, since you will run out of offers to do fast and probably won’t get anywhere because of it. For example, if you complete 3 offers for a 0.50 credit $15 trade and you spent $5 on those offers, you’ll still be earning $10 overall. So, don’t be afraid to spend a little in order to earn extra income online with Project Payday.

You might run out of offers while you earn extra income online. Most of the websites you sign up for from the trading forums you’re using will have the same offers more or less. Since you can’t do an offer twice, no matter if you did the offer on a different website or not, you might run out of good offers to do. In this case, just move on to Method 2 and start recruiting referrals.

In order to refer others so that you can receive the gift or cash prize, you need to do a certain number of offers first. For example, some websites require you to complete 1 credit worth of offers and recruit a certain number of referrals in order to receive the prize. This is why you start off on Method 1, so that you can complete the required offers before moving on to Method 2 and recruiting referrals. However, once you complete the offers, you’ll be able to continuously refer members to earn extra income online over and over again without having to do more offers yourself. This is the case with most freebie websites, but not all.

My Story

When I first joined Project Payday I received $30 for 2 hours of work. My main struggle was finding new offers to complete (that I don’t have to pay a large amount of money for) before I moved on to Method 2. So far, besides eHow, Project Payday has been the best opportunity I’ve discovered to earn extra income online. I’m glad I was able to give Project Payday a chance, though I had many doubts when first starting out.

Now I consider myself a freebie trading expert and have long since started Method 2. Method 2 was started after I had completed about 11 trades, though a lot of traders start Method 2 after 4 or 6 trades. Referring members has been a lot easier than completing the offers myself, and I make a great deal more money than I did in Method 1. However, the number of referrals I get is random. Some days I go without making any money at all, while other days I can make $100 in one sitting.

If you think you might benefit from this opportunity, I strongly suggest joining Project Payday for more in-depth information (and videos) on how to get started. Simply complete the free offer and you can become a member free of cost.

If you’re interested in trading with me or want me to mentor you though the process, simply send me an email at christina@cashcampfire.com. I check this email once a day so I will get back in touch with you in 24 hours at the latest.

Post Your Input

Do you earn extra income online with Project Payday?

How do you like freebie trading?

*This post has some affiliate links distributed in the content.
